Robert L. Gigliotti is of counsel to the firm and concentrates his practice on civil litigation, insurance defense litigation, coverage issues, and bad-faith claims . An experienced trial attorney of twenty-three years and a sole practitioner in the Los Angeles area, Robert joined Rubinton & Associates in 2013 .

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Robert moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1978 and received his Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Loyola Marymount University as a Lewis A. Kingsley Foundation Scholarship recipient, all the while teaching full-time at Marymount Junior School in Brentwood . As an undergraduate student, Robert also interned at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office and decided to enter the field of law . He earned his Juris Doctor in 1990 at University of La Verne College of Law, clerking at Thomas & Price, LLP, in Glendale his last two years of law school.

Upon admission to the State Bar of California, he remained at Thomas & Price as an associate, practicing insurance defense litigation, civil litigation, and appellate law, and gained extensive trial, arbitration, and mediation experience. In the mid-1990s, Robert established his own firm in Beverly Hills and Woodland Hills, handling family law matters, civil litigation, and estate-planning. After merging with a family law firm, he later re-established his sole practice in Encino, where  he now focuses on family law, civil litigation, elder law, mediation, and estate-planning. As of counsel to Rubinton & Associates, Robert handles insurance defense matters in the California courts.            

Robert has continuously contributed his time and efforts to community service organizations and projects. He performs legal services pro bono as a settlement officer, mediator, and minors’ counsel at the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County. Additionally, while also Woodland Hills Sunrise Little League’s general counsel, he is the organization’s founder, vice president, and coordinator of its Challenger Baseball program, an adaptive youth baseball program for children with special needs.
